Shelter Item Donations

Thank you for thinking of FAAS when donating! Please read what we do and do not take below. Donations can be made at our main location:

1590 Fortmann Way Alameda, 94501 during our open hours.

We can not take:

• Medication (we have to pay to dispose)
• Supplements
• Pillows
• Mattresses or foam toppers
• Fitted sheets
• Cat trees (unable to sanatize) 
• Cat scraters (unable to sanatize) 

We can take:

Bedding + Sleep

(No rips, tears, or holes; stains OK!)

Blankets & towels: Thin – medium thickness

Pet beds: Small – Medium size only! (Unable to clean large beds)

Toys

(For cats, dogs and small animals)

Prefered toys : cat tunnels, kong & Nyla Bones, plush toy

No toys with: beads, plastic eyes/nose, beans, wires batteries, talk boxes, feathers or strings

Food + Treats

Must be unopened

Pet food + treats:

• Dog: dry kibble, canned wet food, treats
• Cat: dry food, canned wet food, treats
• Rabbits: hay and treats

Bowls:

• Metal and ceramic bowls
• Stands for bowls 
• Collapsable bowls
• Feeding accessories

Cat Specific

Cat litter: any kind, must be unopened

Litter Boxes: uncovered prefered 

Kitten heating discs: hard plastic prefered

Cat traps: for feral cats

Dog Specific

Accessories: collars, harnesses, leashes, slip-leads

Other Animals

Rabbit, guinea pig, reptile, fish, chicken, turtle, pigeon, parakeet

Small animal supplies

Crates/Containers

For dogs, cats and small animals

Crates: hard shell & wire

Guinea Pig kennels

PlayPens

Expens

Baby Gates

Storage Supplies

Organization: Plastic bins

Bags: Paper and plastic grocery bags, new ziplock bags, new trash bags
