Shelter Item Donations
Thank you for thinking of FAAS when donating! Please read what we do and do not take below. Donations can be made at our main location:
1590 Fortmann Way Alameda, 94501 during our open hours.

We can not take:
- Medication (we have to pay to dispose)
- Supplements
- Pillows
- Mattresses or foam toppers
- Fitted sheets
- Cat trees (unable to sanatize)
- Cat scraters (unable to sanatize)
We can take:
Bedding + Sleep
(No rips, tears, or holes; stains OK!)
Blankets & towels: Thin – medium thickness
Pet beds: Small – Medium size only! (Unable to clean large beds)
Toys
(For cats, dogs and small animals)
Prefered toys : cat tunnels, kong & Nyla Bones, plush toy
No toys with: beads, plastic eyes/nose, beans, wires batteries, talk boxes, feathers or strings
Food + Treats
Must be unopened
Pet food + treats:
- Dog: dry kibble, canned wet food, treats
- Cat: dry food, canned wet food, treats
- Rabbits: hay and treats
Bowls:
- Metal and ceramic bowls
- Stands for bowls
- Collapsable bowls
- Feeding accessories
Cat Specific
Cat litter: any kind, must be unopened
Litter Boxes: uncovered prefered
Kitten heating discs: hard plastic prefered
Cat traps: for feral cats
Dog Specific
Accessories: collars, harnesses, leashes, slip-leads
Other Animals
Rabbit, guinea pig, reptile, fish, chicken, turtle, pigeon, parakeet
Small animal supplies
Crates/Containers
For dogs, cats and small animals
